It's been quite awhile since my last post due to some family circumstances that hit us back in August. I had to put everything on the back burner, without hesitation of course because family comes first. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer. A tumor that had started on the front lobe of her brain. The doctors had been keeping an eye on it and suddenly another one appeared on the backside as well. It had grown through her brain and came out the back. Radiation was our next step, which she started soon after the surgery biopsy and being diagnosed. We live four hours from any major city, but were blessed with a place to stay. A place called The Merriner Cottages which was donated by the Merriner family for cancer patients who live rural. They are beautiful and it was a God send because we really didn't know what we were going to do for a place to stay. She had to have treatment 5 days a week for 28 days. Anyway, she was done with treatment towards the middle of October, but lost her step-dad during so shortly after, when she felt ready, we then headed to CA to spend time with grandma and have a memorial service. She was able to stay longer than the rest of us which was a blessing for them both. She is still having some troubles, but we are getting through them and praying that the radiation has stabilized the tumors. So far so good. :)
I thought I would share this photo with you all, it was on our way to CA and such a cute moment. She loves her little dogs so much & they love her just as much. This one is pebbles. Not the greatest photo since it was taken with my phone, but no matter it's nice to have the memory. I think, eventually, I would like to do a 5x5 book of her journey. Maybe a 7x5 not sure yet. Still on the journey for now.
