A Great Story...

Here is a great story that was shared by Candy May, our up-line Executive Director and co-founder of Heritage Makers…it is a wonderful story to remind us of what ‘heritage’ is really about!

What is Heritage? How can you be the Heritage Maker of your family? "Heritage" is more than yesterday (ancestors), it is TODAY. It is even TOMORROW.

For example last night I asked each of my children what they are grateful for so I could make 4 - 12x12 scrapbook pages with their answers for my front entry (to replace the Halloween one). Their answers and actions surprised me. Teague (age 11) said he was thankful for his baby brother. Ryleigh (age 9) said she was most thankful for her little sister. Gabi (age 4) was most thankful for her big sister. The two little girls embraced in a hug. Not only will I never forget these responses but I will preserve them for us to re-visit each Thanksgiving season to remind them of what they are most grateful for as someday that might not be the case. Heritage is what we do and say "today" and will change and strengthen our "tomorrows".
